The Arboretum Has Temporarily Closed to the Public — Including Walkers

A note from our director.

As a member of the University of Minnesota community, and in partnership with the State of Minnesota’s declaration of peacetime emergency, the U of M has made the difficult decision to close operations on all venues including the Arboretum, Bell Museum and Weisman Art Museum until further notice.

We had hoped to make our beautifully-maintained grounds an oasis for our members and visitors, but in accordance with University procedures, all outdoor spaces are closed to members and the public. (This includes individuals wanting to walk or jog on our grounds.) All immediate Arboretum classes and events, as well as private group and rental reservations have been cancelled and participants will be notified about their options.

Please visit our new homepage — — and check in with our social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram @mn_arb) for the latest updates.

Thank you for your support and patience. We encourage everyone to stay healthy, get outside into nature, and to visit the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum once we reopen.
