Members get a double discount — 20 percent off — in the Gift & Garden Store from April 16-30, so it’s time to stock up for spring! We’ve created a gift guide, highlighting presents perfect for the moms, dads and grads in your life. With a little planning, you’ll have gifts for May and June wrapped up by the end of the month.

The store is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily to visitors with Arboretum reservations. Not an Arboretum member yet? Become a member today to save every time you visit the Gift & Garden Store, gain free admission to the Arboretum and enjoy other member benefits.

For Moms

From earrings (like the cute little butterflies and dragonflies from Sienna Sky, picture above) to Soruka leather purses, the Gift & Garden Store carries a variety of accessories to freshen up for spring.

If mom needs some “me” time, relaxing bath and body products and scents for home might provide just the inspiration that she needs to take a well-deserved break. We love the Inis Bar Soap and Shower Gel. Find delightful botanical scents from Michel Design Works in room sprays, candles and hand soaps.

(Note if your mom is more into digging in the garden or commanding the grill, check out the “Dads” section below for even more ideas.)

For dads

If the dad in your life just wants to get outside, give him some inspiration to get out in the garden or try something new on the grill.

The store carries a variety of high quality gardening tools (like the garden weeders and gloves by Garden Works pictured), as well as a large collection of gardening books. We recommend “The Midwest Native Plant Primer,” by Arboretum Director of Operations Alan Branhagen, as a wonderful reference book for any gardening library.

A new apron, grill seasonings from Gourmet Village and the “Weber’s New American Barbecue” cookbook will provide almost everything he needs to jumpstart the next backyard BBQ.

For Grads

Whether they’re heading off to college or moving into their own place, fresh high school and college graduates will appreciate clever gifts to make their new space feel like home.

Frontier Soup Mixes make for quick, easy and delicious meals. If they’re up for more of a challenge, check out the Gift & Garden Store’s wide selection of cookbooks.

Room spray and dish scrubbers — Skrubba to Scrub and Swedish Dishcloth both have a loyal following — will also be welcome additions to any communal living situation.
