Winter Wondering
Always a lovely sight, tree branches are frosted with thick layers of white, accentuating their lines and shapes. The depth of snow reminds me of cookies frosted in heavy lumps by children, eager for a sweet treat.

Anticipation
Gusts of wind make tree branches sway and rub against each other, making surprisingly strange noises. The moon is waxing gibbous; it will be full within three days.
Winter Surprises
I decide to turn and head into prairie across the street where sleeping seedheads and golden grasses greet me. Sometimes just a short hike up the hill here feels good, especially when the skies splash a welcoming blue.
Three-Mile Phenology
The Crabapple Collection is a perfect site to note seasonal changes, it has four seasons of beauty. Now, an array of crabapples are scattered about the ground and hang from many trees, providing food for Robins, local and migrating.
